I have primers from the 50's, probably not stored in the best manner, but I've not gotten around to trying any. Some are in the wooden tray types, w-w, some Alcan. Might make for some interesting chrongraphing.

We used a Thompson Center Contender in 44 mag, with parafin bullets, primer powered, to kill a lot of rats at an elevator, not so many years ago.

Foxes are really hard on pheasants, but some years ago our game dept. did a study of varmints, and found that feral cats were our #1 problem! I use whatever is handy, on them.

I've had the corbin equipment for 20 yrs. or more, made a quite a few 56-57 gr. bullets, using the corbin mould for cores. Empty .22 brass has to be annealed, to swage the rims off easily. Yeah, lot of work, but they work, up to about 3200 fps.

I bought a used 22-250, Rem. 700, which shot OK for a bit, then died. Since then, it has been another 22-250, a 6HLS twice, a 308, a 22 BR, and now on it's second 22BR barrel. I did true up the action, and put on a McMillan stock, with a Jewel trigger. Hard to go wrong with a 700 action to work...

Back when red foxes were bringing good money, a friend and I hunted them hard. Without exception, every one we skinned, had shotgun pellets in the rear end. That was compliments of pheasant hunters, no doubt.

Bump your load up, to get a decent pressure seal, and when sizing, make sure you ignore that belt; set your die to make the case headspace on the shoulder.

I'm running Lapua 30-06, necked down, which has worked out well.

I have seen it on factory ammo, and the most vivid example, was some Remington .45 acp ammo that gave the fired case a big old guppy swelling, over the unsupported chamber. Don't recall the load, but it gave the shooter on our range several of those. OTOH, I've shot .223 handloads of my own...

When the NXS scopes came out, I questioned whether anyone would pay that extra for them, but I now own 3, never had a turret move for any reason, great optics.

No longer holding an 06 FFL, nor having insurance, the only time I reload for anyone else, is when they are doing most of the work, and I'm making a video of them doing it. Your friends may not be inclined to sue you, but their wives/widows sure will! And ANYTHING that goes wrong, when shooting...

When full length sizing, ignore the belt, and make sure your case shoulder is barely set back from fired length. Also, make sure your primers are seated firmly to the bottom of primer pocket.

Only shot it at paper at 120 yds., but that was under 1/2", with a factory Sendero, 5.5-22X NF scope. Longest elk shot was 409, can't tell you what that bullet was doing in between 100 and 400....but the elk only went about 50 yds.

My 7RUM liked the 150 gr. Scirocco's at 3542 fps, driven by about 96 gr. of Re-25. And they worked perfectly on elk.
