Oryx go into heat year round. You will always find bulls in herds with cows because of this. You also will see calves year round. Either time of year will be very similar. I would pick which ever time works better for your schedule.
30-06 is definitely not dead. My dad, my uncle and my brother all hunt with one for all their big game hunting. It may not be the new and exciting cartridge on this forum but it is still one of the most popular cartridges and a very good choice.
Boretech is good stuff. You can Lea it in over night. I also have had good luck with wipeout. Foam up the barrel let it sit over night patch it out in the morning foam it up again and patch it out that evening and even badly fouled barrels are clean
Thanks for the replies. It’s a 1/8 twist 26 inch barrel. The action is pillar and glass bedded. I don’t think it’s the bedding because I have a 168 smk load that shoots consistent at .5.
