6.5MM STW VS 264 Win Mag?

    Or a 6.5mm-300 Win Mag will work too. I get 3300 FPS out of a 140gr in a 1-8 24 1/2" barrel.

.264 Win Mag vs. 7mm Mag

That is a Sako AV action. One of the best IMO

.264 Win Mag vs. 7mm Mag

I like the 264, but with that being said they can be very hard to find a load for. But once you do it will be all smiles. I have lost my love for the 264 since H870 powder has been discontinued. That powder really shines in a 264 with a 140gr bullet. With today's bullets you can shoot a 140gr...

    264 win mag?

Having had a couple 264 WM over the last few years, As much as I like the round, I'd never build another one. I have found them to be a love hate relationship. They can be very hard to find a good load for. Once you find it though they are a very accurate round. For me I have not found a powder...

264 Win Mag best load for 140SGK?

Partitions work well. If you can find some H870 then that is the best powder I have found for the 264 WM. If not US869 works well too. 76gr of US869 should get you around 3000-3050 FPS in a 24" barrel. You may want to try RL25. 64gr should get you a similar speed.

    Stock for Sako LA?

Extractor & feeding issues. Not recommended on a Sako. Find a magnum to build a magnum. Plus if it is a L61R Finnbear in decent shape it is probably worth something. 280 AI would work fine at 800 yards. A friend of mine has a 280 AI & has taken game over 800 yards with it a few times now. 168gr...

    Stock for Sako LA?

If it is a standard bolt faced 25/06, I recommend not trying to open it up to a Magnum. I am guessing it is a L61R. If so go with one of theses. Welcome to High Tech Specialties, Inc.!!! 25/06 is a good caliber. If you want more, why not build a 280 AI? If it is a L61R, the action will look...

    7mm Rem Mag

I've owned many 7mm's over the years. I have found it very easy to load for. I shoot mostly 140gr bullets, but I don't shoot near the ranges a lot do on the board. 68gr RL22 & a 140gr Nosler Accubond has shot well under an inch in over 1/2 a dozen 7mm's I have tried now. Speed ranging from 3050...

    264 Win Mag, Which Bullet?

What's the secret to getting a 130gr Swift to shoot? I have never had any luck in the accuracy department with it? 140gr Accubond has been much better for me.

    264 Winchester Mag Help

I opened mine up to 6.5mm-300 Win Mag 24 1/2" barrel. 1-8 twist. 80gr H870 + 140gr Accubond = 3300 FPS The triangle group is 70gr RL25 + 140gr Accubond = 3250 FPS Never tried Magnum & never been worried about the temp issue myself. I test when the conditions are similar to what I am...

    264 Winchester Mag Help

My 264 topped out with Retumbo @ 66gr with a 140gr. I have heard of people going much higher than that though. The key to the 264 is slow powder. You may want to consider US869. Not as good a the old H870, but very consistent I found. 78gr US869 was MAX in my rifle with a 140gr.
