    Is the .224 Valkyrie dead???

I'm running the Hornady black ammunition through a 22 inch BCF carbon barrel AR Valkyrie and am very fond of it. Has accounted for multiple hogs and coyotes down here in Texas with me. The BCF barrel is crazy light even being 22 inches and POI does not shift appreciably over the course of a...

Bear Advice With A Master Alaskan Guide

Yes, great episode. Confirms many theories and he's certainly an undisputed expert. Makes me feel better about using hardcast +p 45 ACP and 10mm loads. Pretty confident in both of those and shoot them much better than I do a 454 super redhawk. Plus much better round count.

    Have action need cartridge

Within the confines of a 3.77 COAL, how well can the 338 edge / Rum perform? Is it limited to the 265 grain bullet range due to length of the big 300 grainers?

    Have action need cartridge

330 Dakota or 33 Nosler on a 3.6 COAL action is a very capable setup. Not too many online discussions of this, but I'm giving it a go on my next build.

    300 Wby. Mag. VS. 300 Rem.Ultra Mag. ?

I've been contemplating this exact setup for a long time. Coupled with a Trijicon 3-18x44 Tenmile this combo would come in around 8 pounds all up and should be tolerable on the recoil. What kind of groups is your dad seeing out of his? My current 300 WBY is a stainless one made in the 90s that...

    300 Wby. Mag. VS. 300 Rem.Ultra Mag. ?

Have both, velocity is higher in the RUM. My Weatherby is an American made Stainless Mark V from the 90's. Shoots the factory 195 Hammers into a ragged hole at 100 yards. ELD-X load is 1 MOA. The RUM is 1 MOA on a good day with Barnes LRX. Haven't gotten a chance to load Hammer 180's for it yet...

    The Last Rifle Part 2

PRC needs a 26 inch barrel to really shine, that's what the intended factory loads design their powder burn rates with. That combined with your barrel being new adds up to being right in the ball park. Figure 25-30 FPS per inch of barrel so a 26 inch would give you 60 FPS better and then with...

    10mm handgun

Coming back to the OP's question a bit, what are the thoughts on a Tisas 1911 D10 with lower capacity (9+1) vs say a FN 510 with 22+1 capacity?

    Custom 264 Win Mag Reamer

I'm in the middle of building a custom 264 Win Mag on a pre 64 model 70 H&H length (3.6 COAL) action. 1-7.5 Bartlein barrel, 27 inches. Does anybody have a lightly used reamer that would be appropriately throated for 156 grain Berger or similar? Looking for .200 or more inches of freebore and...

    How long is the barrel?

    10mm handgun

How tight are those 220s fitting in the magazine? I too have read of the possible issues fitting max length 10mm rounds in the Sig magazines which has made me hesitate on getting one.

Have you tried this scope Trijicon Tenmile

Thanks! Somehow my wires got crossed and I thought it was the 3-18 FFP version for $839, was about to buy three of them if they'd gone that low. Trying to get away from SFP scopes on my rigs currently. Still a bargain.

Have you tried this scope Trijicon Tenmile

Is that deal still going? I have one and intend to buy another. That's an absolute steal for the quality you got.

Hammer bullets picked up by Weatherby !!!

Thanks Steve, the 196 HH looks to be a lot lower in BC compared to the Weatherby (WBY 195 G1 = .550 per their website)? I have another .25 of magazine room to play with in this Mark V, so the added length should be tolerable I think. Tempted to try the 203 HHT and see if they will stabilize in...

Hammer bullets picked up by Weatherby !!!

Resurrecting this because I can. Played with the Hammer 195 grain 300's this afternoon and was very impressed. One ragged hole at 100 yards and ringing steel out to 800. One note of interest, a friend Garmin was reading the velocity with an average of only 3035 but this barrel was brand new, so...
