If the shots are further or the climb is steep and/or rough I'll take my custom Model 70 in 338wm. If it's thick or I'm going in to the thick to find a wounded bear I like my 416 Rigby with 400 grain Swift AFrames. I've killed a number of bears with each and they both work very well...

I've shot a number of bears with my 338wm. Two were grizzly's. My favorite load is 71 grains of H4831sc under a 250 or 275 grn Swift AFrame. Works well on about everything else in North America too.

I have a NXS 3.5-15x50 with the NPR2 reticle, very good scope. I chose this over Leupold and have no regrets. From my eyes the NF has it all over Leupold optically - nothing wrong with Leupie, just that these are better. Downside is it's a little heavier and bulkier than a lot of other scopes...

I bought mine 3 years ago. NXS 3.5-15x50 with the NPR2 reticle. Robust construction, great clarity, superior low light performance. Saving up for a 2.5-10x32.

Hi all, I'm located in central BC, kind of an outdoorsman paradise. Been lurking for awhile as my interest in distance shooting has increased. I've only been shooting out to 500 yards so far but I'm just setting up to shoot out to 1000 yards this winter. We'll see how it goes...
