The 120 GMX has G1 of 0.45, more velocity at any distance. And either one will penetrate as much as needed. So why the 140? Maybe to shoot thru a tree.
Ha, big deal I could do that with my 357 mag and I'd only need one shot..!! And if I shot three it won't show on that little dab of paper.
Pretty amazing for factory.
I don't know much about this stuff. But that sounds good if you can clamp down your barrel when shooting at an elk. On the other hand if the barrel is free floating off the action isn't that another story? On a hunting rifle the barrel is "clamped" off the front of the action. Would make sense...
To be fair to Shaw they do say it combines the best features of Ruger, Winchester, Sako, and Savage. I thought one of the best features of Savage was the floating bolt head. I don't think the Shaw has that. Maybe it's the Accutrigger that makes it look like a Savage.
They will build you a...
I choose the SAUM and 264 WM because they have enough power without eating barrels for breakfast. They wait till lunch. The CM and 6x47 are too under powered for my taste.
Wonder why not the WSM? Poor brass?
I don't understand it either. The video I saw said the 250 was built for an 8.5 twist because that's what the 300 PRC has as standard twist. But to me the 250 is way to heavy for the 300 PRC. Maybe not. It's about the same BC and velocity that's standard for the Edge shooting a 300 Berger. Maybe...
The nose and boattail are exactly the same on both bullets. All the extra weight is in the bearing surface. They could have made the nose longer on the 250, building it for an 8 twist, but it won't really make much difference.
The 250 is too heavy for anything less than a 300 Norma AI and...
