    Savage Striker Stock?

I wish you good fortune. I worked with Joel to design some thumbhole and non thumbhole mid grip striker stocks. I have modded Striker stocks for both hunting and benchrest. I have made stocks from anything from laminate to exotic royal walnut. I even made a prototype alloy chassis for drop...

    Savage barrel nut torque

The nut torque has no effect on accuracy. Headspace, cartridge, etc does. Specs are 70 ft lbs. Me, I've always used the proper wrench tightened by hand to about 60 ft lbs (one hand at 1 ft with lean weight) and a tap with a small hammer. I've loosened some that took my body weight standing...

    Length of pillars ?

Personally, my pillars length are determined during the bedding process. I mount them to the action, bed the action with pillars, and a no stress pillar job. All trimming on the outside of the stock. Larry Tinkerer

    Air Travel With Pelican Case

TSA rules do not state the bolt must be removed from the action, but I would and tie it down separately to prevent it being a hard spot and breaking or bending your firearm. My 2 cents worth. I don't trust TSA from damaging my firearm if they can. Larry Tinkerer

    Any kidney stone sufferers here?

Yes, I had my time in hell. Finally passed it with med assistance. Prevention? Stones are calcium based and your diet over long time deposits. Tea is a culprit. Larry Tinkerer

Crowd source shopping. Savage Action 300WM...

Stock? I like Boyds with bedding block, but you're experience may vary. Barrel? Seeing the number of rounds you shoot a year, you might consider a melonited barrel. I like McGowen's. Larry Tinkerer

    SBR Firearm Laws/Regulations

Don't know about state regs, specifically. Fed SBR regs are written to address cutting down a rifle to minimums. Overall length of at least 26" and a minimum barrel length of at least 16", IF it started life as a rifle action. Now I know that the Contender had different rules as it started as...
