Hi! I have an oppurtunity to rebarrel a short action rifle that allows 2.992 cartridges. Im thinking 24 inch barrel and 140-168 grains bullets for deerhunting. First I was thinking 284w but then I realize that a 7-08 would perform really good with this col and barrellength with less powder. How...
That would be really great. Too bad I live in Europe :( the ITAR laws and our own import laws makes it impossible to do, well, atleast very very expensive.
I've seen a cz 527 with modiefied magazine. To work with fatter cases they miled out the vertical "calluses" inside the mag. Becouse the right length of the mag feeding should not be a problem? but maybe its tricky to get the CRF to grip the case properly?
Yorke-1 Thats really interesting thanks for sharing you view on it. Yes the grendel is a lovely little round. If a 6br projekt is started i must know that feeding wont be a problem but maybe its better to choose a different smaller case for the 527 just as you did to avoid trouble. Nice...
Im consider a cz527 for a stalking rifle in 6br. The mag needs some minor adjustment on the inner sides but is in the right lenght (2.387). So COL wont be an issue. The bolt face needs to open up slightly from (7,62x39) wich are 0.447 in base, and BR 0.470.
The big question is, will the micro...
Thank you! I have closed the 6,5x47 sidetrack and is back on 6br. Have you tried 90 and 95 grain vld in your 1:10 twist barrel? I've read so much about twist rate and bullets so I dont know inside out. Berger says one thing and then shooters say another thing "from the reallity". Like 95 Berger...
The problem with vld hunting is risk of fmj effect on greater distances. It provides great BC and thats what you want, problem is that the shape of the bullet makes the bullet unpredictable. Maybe not on bone but between ribs. My wish is that Berger would make the jacket even thinner or use a...
Hi!
First some background: I have a 27 inch 0.90 profile barreled 6,5x55 for long range hunting, and .222 for short range (with a cheap scope). I also have a 21 inch .308w 1/10 twist .308w lightweight deer stalking rifle.
I no longer hunt on distance further than 400 yards. And never...
I agree, but sometimes something can look odd but still work. Just wasnt sure what you ment. Now I do, thank you for great advice, really learned something here.
I've temporary moved the scope back so it rests more on the front ring. I actually might been hasty on the eye relief when I mount...
Hi! Bought a new big scope and it has alot of eye relief. I like DNZ Game reaper very much so ofcourse I order a mount for my new scope. As you can see on the picture I have to push the scope alot forward. I think its looking kind of odd, I get most of the scope weight frontside, meaning it...
