I am just order from Midway Hogue full bedding black for $209. My other questions would be should I glass bed the action or barrel, from what I understand this is normally done for wooden stocks. I guess I'll shoot it a few times and then decide if I should glass bed.
If the gun is a bolt action and you are shooting the new loads in the same gun you only need to size the neck, using a neck sizing die. This improves accuracy since the cartidge is custom fit into the gun. I've reloaded both 375 HH and 300 Win Mag using and not had a problem although when...
I'm thining about replacing my stock on a Ruger 77 MK II 300 Win Mag with a Hogue stock. However I'm not certain which to purchase, pillar bedded or full.
Does anyone have any experience with either and is the full bedded worth the extra dollars?
I also plan to replace the trigger with a...
Doing a search for reloading information. I found this as well as other forums however this seems to be the best that I've found. More informative and a greater number of experienced shooters.
I hunt whitetail with a 270 Winchester. I'm currently using a 140 gr Nosler AccuBond bullet. This was my first high powered rifle and I purchased it specifically for deer, I have added a number of center fire rifles to my collection not due to any particular reason other than I like guns...
Question for you really long range shooters, how do you determine the quality of the animal your shooting?
I often glass out to 500 yards using Ziess 10 x40 but at any further distance it is tough to tell the quality of the animal escpecially in low light, or maybe my old eyes are just not...
In the Nosler reloading guide they only list a 250 gr. Partition Spitzer bullet they don't list an Accubond at they weight. They do list a 225 gr. 200 gr. 180 gr. AccuBond for 338. Perhaps that's why you can not find the numbers for the 250 gr.
I schedule my night hunting during the full moon. It is plenty of light to shoot varmints and hogs as long as they're not in the shade. It has been very successful for hogs. I use Leupold VXII scope and Ziess 10 x 40 binoculars.
