Does A Can or Suppresor Increase Back Pressure and Decrease Velocity??? Well????

My understanding is that suppressors don't increase pressure (noticably), but they make the peak pressure bleed off slowly. So pressure stays high in the barrel longer. That can cause gas guns to need an adjustable gas block (or equivalent for guns other than ARs). In my readings occasionally...

What is going on with Nosler?

The flaws are purely cosmetic. Nosler will not sell a bullet that isn't worthy of their name. I live right by both Nosler facilities and have bought their seconds from the Bend outlet store in .338, great value.

My son's Xmas present is shooting 25 moa! Help!

Try lightly oiling the barrel, fire or few rounds to clear the oil out then shoot a group. Have you tried using sandbags or a lead sled or anything to help the rifle stay steady? Also your rear site may be bouncing around between shots those wedge styles sites arn't very secure. Can it...

    Dumb Barrel Length Question?

Well, legalities aside I would assume that with the quality hunting bullet you can hunt deer-sized game as far out as you can hit say a six or eight inch circle. I used to hunt with a 7 1/2" Ruger Super Blackhawk for years in Alaska. It was the best deer gun I used. The weather was always...

    Rifle Weight

If you are still considering lightning your 65 you may want to look into having your barrel fluted. I don't know too much about it but it does make them lighter. I shoot heavier rifles better than lighter ones. I carry around a long, heavy (12 lb) rifle because when I take a shot on...

    Howdy

A little with a suppressed .22, that's about it... Sad. I have a long range rifle that I need to work up a load for. I'm hoping I'll be able to drag somebody out to the range with me, we'll see. I really like to hunt elk.

    Who makes warm boots?

Plus one for pack boots. Hoffman and Schnee both make a couple different iterations. I think whites boots stopped making them but they were also very good. Make sure your boots are not too tight, same with your socks. You want free air in there for insulation and you want lots of blood flow.

    Core-lokt

Well I have very limited experience with elk, but the ones I have shot have been very tough and I had to break the bones to get them to stop. I think it's kind of like bears if you get them unsuspecting a 2:43 is fine but if they're all ****ed off and have bad teeth or are already shot it...

    Core-lokt

I have had good accuracy with core locks as long as the bullet weight was appropriate for the particular rifle. I prefer the heavier for caliber ones a lot of time is the lighter weight ones expand too fast for my taste. Cup and core bullets are great until you're up close and personal with...

    Bow vs Pistol...Poll...Another fight night.

I would say that the handgun equivalent of a bow at close range is probably a 38 special or 357. At long range for a bow it's very difficult for most people to hit anything but the arrow maintains its lethality as long as you can in fact hit your target. Whereas a handgun bullet is generally...

    New rifle...... Flinching

Lots of good advice. I hate muzzle brakes put a suppressor on it they're great. They take recoil and noise and turn it into heat. Muzzle brakes turn recoil into noise.
