Sunday bump.

I have been asked about trades, so I decided to add somethings. I would consider Swarovski binoculars or a Nightforce beast MIL/MIL scope on trade.

I have 400-105 Berger VLD's to shoot but I may have to sell them and get some 110 A-tips for the 7 twist?

As far as use, it will just be a long-range target rifle. Maybe a local match at some point but mostly just for some long-range fun with low recoil. I had all the parts laying around except the barrel. The 110 A-Tip or something that works at distance will be fun to play with.

Great information guys. I was going to do a 1-7.5 twist, but he had this one (7 twist) in stock. Diamond fluting and 24 inches long plus a custom muzzle brake. I changed out the bolt shroud and bolt head to PTG. Did away with the barrel nut, changed the trigger group to the savage 8-ounce...

Since I am doing the 1-7 twist, I have to try the 110 A-Tip?

I just talked to my gun smith; he will use the in stock 1-7 twist.

Thank you for the replies. Maybe the 1-7 twist would be fine for what I am doing with it.

If I take the 1-7 twist, he has that one in stock. If I do the 1-75 twist, it may take a few weeks or months to get a barrel. I don't use the barrel nut system on my savage builds. I have them direct threaded with a normal lug.

I just talked to my gunsmith this morning and he only has the 1-7 twist in stock. I will have him order a 1-7.5 twist.
