In theory it should work at every distance. The idea is that a slower bullet is launched higher due to the muzzle being slightly angled up more so the slower bullet will have a higher arc

If you want the more worn tires on the rear you shouldn't have to rotate tires until you get new ones, and at that point you just put 2 new on the front and move the partially worn fronts to the rear

The way I’ve heard people do it is shoot a ladder test at 100 yards and see where slower projectiles begin to climb on target. You want to be some where in the middle velocity of a few shots that climb on target.

if I was testing for positive compensation I would be loading ammo that has a 150-200 fps difference that should give you roughly .5 mil vertical at 600 if it's not compensating, should be plenty visible IMO

Positive compensation is questionable at best. If you believe it exists it has to exist at every range.

I’m at a loss that’s a fairly large difference at that distance and if everything we’ve talked about is truly correct I don’t know the answer. I’ve never seen an LR or Garmin be off on velocity that far.
