Is the windage zero offset backward in AB Mobile? If the impact is right of point of aim I am suppose to put that as a positive number correct? This doesn't work, I have to input a negative number for a right of POA impact otherwise it tells me to dial right. Am I confused?

I went with 7 in my 18" so I could shoot 90smks, I have shot plenty of 55gr fmjs with no issues. Lightest was 45gr, but those were Barnes solids.

I should clarify, according to stability calculators, the 215hybrids are not 100% stabilized from my 10twist, they shoot just fine but according to Litz, the BC is slightly comprised being under 1.5 SG.

I run 230otm in my .308 for long range, they are best for wind even at slow speeds. 215s were about equal but not 100% stabilized(10 twist) and not mag length loadable. I did a big comparison on another site, my 230 loads vs. 140gr 6.5cm loads from the same barrel length. The difference is small.

At which point that scope is thrown away or sold or mounted on a 22lr, not a scope I would use for dialing drops for long range.

I have used Leupold MK4, NightForce and BadgerOrdnance bases, I have an EGW 20moa riser on my AR and have heard good things about their(EGW) bolt gun bases. BadgerOrdnance is the nicest I have used as far as machine work, Leupold was the worst but the all worked like they were suppose to.

Just crank the elevation turret from one extreme to the other and count MOA. The rated MOA travel could be more or less than your actual scope. Hard to guess for sure where your actual fired 100yd zero will put you in the scope but if you find your scope has 65moa total and you need 30 MOA...

I usually stop when my IR thermometer tells me the chamber area is around 130-140°(for target shooting). That is quite a bit of shooting on a cool day, not as much for hot day.

According to twist rate calcs the 230 OTM stabilizes easier. It probably doesn't matter with the MVs you guys are getting but I run them in my 10twist 20" .308 so the OTM is the one I have to use........
