Seems most of them are stiff to adjust. I've always used a slice of bicycle innertube around the scope and a cheap breakaway coaster off amazon for a throw lever to help with that. I actually put one on every scope I have regardless of the brand or model.
Update on the Burris.
Burris replaced it with a new scope as expected. Emailed stated "was not repairable" New scope focuses just fine at higher magnification and long distances. I guess I need to build another rifle since I have an extra optic laying around now............
So far me neither, and I'm a big Burris fan.
I'm sending it back to Burris. I cannot get it to focus on anything over 13 at all, really makes it pointless. I replaced it with a Razor 4-22 this morning thanks to Midway Black Friday. If Burris fixes or replaces it I'll try it on another rifle.
Anyone else have any good or bad experience with this scope? I have one and I can not get it to focus worth a crap. I was at the range last week and I turned it up to 16 power and tried to focus on a 2'x2' steel plate at 500 yards and no matter where I put the focus and/or the parallax all I...
Looking at loads on the Nosler site. Is Magnum powder referring to "Ramshot Magnum"?
I would assume so but thats the only powder I know of Magnum. Just trying to be sure before I try.
Thanks.

Recently rebuilt my Remington 7mm STW. Bought the original version new in 2000 and hunted with it ever since. The barrel had finally gotten past my acceptable accuracy standards do I decided to reconfigure it with a Barlein 5R barrel, Grayboe stock and new bottom metal with accurate mags...
I recently had my Remington LA SS DMB rebuilt and I have these parts leftover. I’m told that somebody could use them and could be worth selling. $200 plus shipping for the lot or best offer. If you’re interested but feel I’m out of line on my price just shoot me an offer. I’m also not...
Well honestly I can't say which events because the range is currently under construction. I would just like to be able to dip into long range competition.
You guys have some great points and now I realize that the STW is not a good choice.
Some very good points. The only reason I was thinking STW is because I already load & shoot it but I like the Creedmor option also. I've heard a lot of good things about the RPR but I really want a good, "old fashion" bolt gun I don't know why but I have a bad taste in my mouth for a bolt...
For discussion's sake...and because I've been kicking around the idea of selling my boat that gets used 2-3 times a year.
There's a new 1200 yd range going in close to me and I think it would be fun & challenging to start shooting in some of the events.
If you were to build a 1000 yd bolt gun...
Yes, I saw that and I agree the brake would be a hassle in the woods I actually dug my brake out for some target shooting a few weeks ago and put it back on. It helped a little with recoil but then my dad wanted to shoot the 500 yd target with it.......He forgot to put his ear protection on...
