    .22-250 Enough For Wolves?

OK, shoot him in the gut with a .22RF, and it will kill him just like a 22-250. He will crawl off and die somewhere, and for some folks mission accomplished. I'll not quibble over whether it's humane or not , I don't really care myself. But at $250.00 to $400.00 per pelt, I want to take him...

Do Your Wife And/or Kids Hunt?

My wife loves shooting Ruff Grouse, and Ptarmigan. She also likes shooting Black Bears and Moose. She does not like hunting Caribou, because she does not like Caribou meat. Both of my sons hunt. The oldest one lives in Oragan and hunts Turkey. The youngest one lives here in Fairbanks. He...

    Wolf attacks bicyclist

It's been four years now since a pack of Wolves attacked and ate a school teacher in Chignik Alaska. Seems the main stream media would not pick up that story. I know the State Biologist that went out and looked the attack site over. He also so shot and performed necropsies on as many of...

    Ideal Wolf Hunting Rifle

I ordered my stock from Cabela's. I did the fitting myself. I usually use the seat or back rest of my snowmachine, it's easier and faster. the reason for the spare rifle is if you happen to damage the rifle or scope when you are hours from the highway, and a four hyour drive home, a spare...

    Ideal Wolf Hunting Rifle

I have talked to my good friend Coke Wallace, a professional wolf hunter, and guide. Coke guides a lot of hunters out to kill wolves in the spring, and always knows where and when to find them. I was talking to him about which gun I should use. He had one and only one caliber he recommends...

    Mini-14 accuracy

Something is Coyotes and Foxes, maybe a Lynx. At 100 yards both my son and I can only get 3 to 4 inch groups, with the newer one (built in the 90s. The older one from the 80s we can cut the groups down to 2 1/2 to 3 inch group at 100 yards.

    Mini-14 accuracy

I have two Mini-14s, (I know your sorry). I really like these guns, but they are very inaccurate. Oh I can use them out to 100 yards but after that they are just throwing bullets everywhere. Is there a way to help these guns shoot straighter. Some people say new barrels will do it, others...
