    Rookie mistakes

Could also be that previous hunters have used that sound on them before and when they responded, they barely got away with their lives. Mayhap been a big warning siren to them. You'll have to try using other calls out there. Like it was stated, start low and then work up in volume.

    Varmint Assoc. in Utah?

I'll have to take you up on the offer, once my rifle gets finished. I'm looking at a few more weeks, then I'm going to have to find what loads will work great in it, then I can head out. Thanks for letting me know of some good areas.

    Varmint Assoc. in Utah?

That's ok. Been pretty busy with work and have had the gun in the gunsmith for over two months waiting for a reamer and now I'm looking out another few weeks. It'll be exciting when I finally do get, it'll be heaven :D

    V max not expanding

IMO I think that the 67 g. bullet, and a varmint bullet at that, out of a PPC is not a big game bullet. The sectional density is low on that small of a weight, and PPCs were designed up to 300 meters where they mostly dominate matches and the powder capacity in the PPC is not as great for it...

    Question on Remington 700 PSS

I bought the same type of rifle/caliber a year ago and was very satisfied with it. With handloads I was able to get groups from .2 to .6 MOA (various bullets and powders). I'm not sure if they are all made with a long throat (considering manufactures want to cover their butts, they probably...

6BR Varmint Rifle, Bullet Choice Opinions

If you shoot a 6BR and want to shoot 115s, you'll need at least a 1:7 twist, you could get away with a 1:7.5 twist. Each gun is going to be unique and maybe 107s will work, or 105 Amax, or even 105 VLDs will work. Some 6BRs can shoot 87 and on up grains and some don't like anything under 105...

    For the Forster owners....

I really like the Forster BR seater dies. Very minimal runout and accuracy with seating depth and very affordable for a high quality. I've used their FL die and they are pretty good, but since I want to do neck tension, I go with a Redding Type S FL die for that purpose. If your interested in...

Nothing wrong with this shotgun, it's just that I have an older Winchester Model 12 that I use. Still looking for decent offers.

Does anyone here ever use a bore plug?

I use wipeout (great product). When I do it, I roll up a sheet of paper towel and plug the chamber end up, spray the foam through the muzzle, and put a foam ear plug in to cap off that end. Works great for me and don't see a need to spend more money for that. As for filling a solvent in, you...

    varmint rifle

My first time at 200, 300, and so on yards was never impressive. But after practicing at that distance, it gets easier and groups will shrink. My first 300 yard group was over 3", but now I got it down to consistently shoot around 1" (+/-) .3" difference for weather, wind, cold bore, etc...

I have for sale 200 pieces of .308 Win. Lapua brass. Both come from the same lot number. 100 rounds have been fired exactly 3 times only (using only medium pressure loads only), full length sized, cleaned and tumbled. The other 100 rounds are brand new, virgin brass that has only been...
