The key is finding areas to glass. Anywhere that greens up early (avalanche chutes) is likely to hold bears. The later you go the more disbursed they will be.
I was considering using these in my 338 Lapua, but now I can pass on that. Next spring I would like to try these out in a 300 Wby. Maybe someone else will have some data by then. The performance gains look great.
I spent a lot of time looking for 284 brass. Just bought 400 new cases a couple months ago. I would have waited if I had known. Oh well at least they will be there when I need them now.
All the pigs I have shot have been with a .308. Mostly head shots. The ones that were shot in the lungs never ran any farther than a similarly hit deer.
I picked up my first one this year. I have used it on 4 antelope and 1 mule deer. I like the performance and that I can use factory ammo. I had been using a 284 Win. The cartridge its performance is based on is good enough that I can see why it was copied.
