    Improving the 260...

The 260 is a 308 necked down to 6.5. If you want more powder you might look at the 6.5 x 57 or the 6.5 x .284. Nat Lambeth

    35 whelen- Black Bear

Absolutely great cartridge choice. Any combination 180-250 grain bullet with do a great job. I personally would use a controlled expansion bullet (bonded core, Partition, or Barnes Tripple Shock. Reloaded 15, H4895, IMR 4064, H4350, W-748 or w-760 are all good choices. Rustystud

    Rebarrelling

There is a reason one pays me $250 plus dollars to rebarrel a rifle. Knowledge, experirnce, machinery, tooling, measuring devices, insurance, FFL, ITAR registration, all come with a price tag. Anyone can rebarrel a rifle, but will it be accurate and or go kaboom. Let us know how you do, give...

    Berger ammunition (please inspect)

Over the years I have had brass issues with Nosler, Norma, Hornady, and Remington brass. Hornady and Remington were interested and did something (replaced) the brass. Both Nosler and Norma said I was shot out of luck. My response is to never buy their brass ever again.

What is this a scar/fissure/tooling mark in my barrel?

There are several rifle makers here in the USA who have begun making barrels less expensive by cutting out several of the processes done in the past and currently still being done by the premium barrel makers. Since yours is shooting at expectations I would be very pleased. Watch in the future...
