3 Grizzlies infected with Avian Flu,that is not all

Being old enough to have watched the Vietnam war on tv, and being of draft age, I have seen the world travel down the rabbit hole . with all of the fear and isolation that has been fabricated, they are leading us, and especially the younger generations to their desired point. Two sayings that I...

    Ejector marks

I have 3 Dashers, 2 Savage Target models with custom barrels, 1 Defiant with Bartlein barrel. With Varget in all three, 32.5 is higher than I want for pressure, even though totally safe. I shoot RL 16 in them also, and 34.8 is totally safe. This is in Norma brass for the Savages, and Lapua and...

    Ejector marks

It's true that multiple conditions can cause pressure signs, powder charge is the first to check IF the loads are at or close to top loads.... Again, why I suggest that new brass be loaded at low charge weight, it should still be enough to get fired neck diameter, base to shoulder datum line...

    Ejector marks

First, every brass brand has different internal capacity. Second the first test on any new brass should be pressure, not accuracy. Load new brass at the suggested start load ( low pressure), just to form brass, and expand internal capacity. Then load 3 cases at different powder charges and...

I bought a Deviant SA back in May of 2022....cost me $1350.00....I like it, but only bought it because it was about $2-3 hundred under a Bat....for the new prices, I'll DEFINITELY be buying Bat actions.....hope the new owner (Bob Beck ?) gets rich quickly enough........but I honestly believe...

    Seating die squish???

How was the seating pressure, did it feel "tighter" than the rest? Do you use a mandrel to size the necks during reloading. Any more, I run every case new or resized thru the mandrel die, more consistent seating, and I catch cases that have tight necks....rsbhunter

    Problems with new gun

True, nitride might negate that problem, I know when I have had mine done, I was told that carbide tooling should be used because it made it so hard...my statement was referring to plain ss, as well as the patch on brush might make a difference. Forgot you had nitrided bbl.rsbhunter

    Problems with new gun

Had to jump back in....can't say with 100% conviction, but some barrel mfg's state emphatically to NOT use JB on a bronze brush!!!! They have bore scope pictures of the lands and grooves being "grooved" and basically ruined. I use jb paste(blue color print on jar ) on a jag with patch, or the...

    Problems with new gun

After reading all the posts, I am going to bow out of this....between the rifle shooting ok, then keyholing, and "mushroomed" bullets, its beyond my level of troubleshooting.... I honestly hope you figure it out...I would be more bald than I am if it was mine!!!! Good luck...rsbhunter

    Problems with new gun

How many rounds on original chamber? 6.5 is a pretty intense cartridge as far as barrel wear, so I have to believe the 6.5 Max is a larger (as you can't rechamber smaller) cartridge with greater powder capacity. I believe that the problem is mechanical more than bore size, or similar. We need...

    Problems with new gun

I agree about falsely blaming ANY product...But, why the intensity of defending a very well know and respected barrel? I read Alot of articles and forum posts and have not seen alot of Brux haters??? Just seems over the top, for being a non issue? rsbhunter

    Problems with new gun

Idaho Lefty, don't believe it was the Brux barrel , at least as it came from the factory. But , since that time, it was chambered in one cartridge, shot ? How many rounds, rechambered, recrowned, and ???? There are a whole lot of maybes that in my mind point to either scope (had been swapped) or...

    Problems with new gun

That would be a problem except for the fact that it shot 15 times and " no problem" . was the ammo the same handload, as I've never heard of 6.5 Max, ( but I'm old) as the first time. What were the group(s) like with the first firing? Being rechambered, have your gunsmith do a chamber cast...
