Allen Precision Shooting, reintroduction... the mighty Raptor LRSS

Good to see ya doin this! I gave my 375 Allen Magnum and "all" the stuff that goes with to my brand new grandson-in-law. He's quite the hunter. He bagged this once-in-a-lifetime Utah Mtn Goat this year. I've been thinking of what to do with my "Big Girl" and... Due to covid I got to conduct...

Golf Ball at 300 yards ?

Done with a 257 cal air gun on a regular basis. Really... I've done it with a 22 cal Airforce Condor SS @ 156...

    Bullet Puller?

Grip N Pull - been using one for years in several different calibers. I'm quite finicky about wasting bullets, especially high priced monos. G n P works fine with them also. Good grip, no marring. Hammer type bullet pullers will getcha in trouble if you tend to use cases with loose primer...

    Introducing the Absolute Hammer

Yo Steve, Helluvan idea. When you get around to some .0275 AHs I'll build a super hootie air gun around them. (recall the engraving problem with the 0.223s?) Next step is open the hollow point and split the nose to get some sub-sonic expansion. I'm still kick'n...

    Hooked on Airguns

Nope, no regulator. With Crossman 14.3 Premiers pwr wheel on 6, psi from 2250 to 1750 MV is around 1000 to 900+. On the high end she’s good to 100+. On the low end, not much beyond 50. Groups great but velocity range causes vertical vertical misses. Thus I refill at 2000 psi. 18 to 25...

    Hooked on Airguns

Squat, the only money I’ve spent on mine is for a super seat which wire out after several thousand shots, a super hooty tophat with screw in inserts which failed after awhile. I hawged out my own tophat and drilled it with ever increasing bit sizes till I got the velocity I wanted. Made my...

Problem with calcs for 4dof and strelok

Ensure line of sight vs line of bore is accurate... Your baro press is off but won’t make “that much”

    Hooked on Airguns

Nah, don’t give up on her. Things about the Condor (mine is the SS in 22 cal) Hammer spring is too weak and too long; Hammer is too light. The valve sucks The valve to get has a larger diameter than the stock one and also has 3 ports vs 2. For long range slugs are the only way to go...

    Ultimate long range cartridge

Tom, Seems like you may be thinking that in 9 years you’ll be shooting ELR... If you wait 9 years to make the order it’ll be over 10 years before your shoot’n... Been there, done that.... At the time in my life that you are now in I ordered a rig that would allow me to go well beyond 2k...

    Hooked on Airguns

I’ve been doing some fun stuff. Pellets are history. Found NSA slugs. Talk about awesome! Gearing up for yotes. Been shooting 24.8 gr HP, Nielsen Speciality Ammo slugs slugs to 152 yards. If it weren’t 4 the wind she’d be sub MOA. I’m thinking my max effective range is 125 yards with...

    Hammer bullets stabilization

When the 411 gr in .375 shot 18” flatter than the 395 gr @ 1000 but wouldn’t stabilize in my 10 twist, Steve said they’d work on it. I sent them my 375 Allen Mag as a development platform(which was misdirected to someplace in Indiana - which is a whole ‘nother story). After the Hammer boys...

    Load development for Hammers

What Steve says is straight skinny for sure. Hammers pretty much take the fun (lots of wasting powder, primers, bullets and time) out of load work up. Once you settle on a Hammer that will stabilize in your twist you’ll be zeroed with your load in very few shots.

    Idahoans sound off.

I'm in Blackfoot should anyone want to get together and go for some real distance.

    Hooked on Airguns

Completed second rebuild of the AirForce Condor SS. The first build patterned after the factory method of barrel installation didn't meet requirements. Was finicky as was the factory installation. Wasn't consistent in holding zero. Came up with a new, for me, idea. Threaded the chamber end...
