I agree with your analysis only exception I ever seen personally was in a 15 inch hand gun that shot cast bullets . It always always shot and gave a better POI with a cleaned barrel .

Mountian rifle never , I do use a monopod walking stick and have used it . However I prefer to use my pack for a super study shot perhaps on a rock or on a downed tree or a hump in the ground etc.. If needed I will bring shooting sticks if I know I will be in one Area glassing .

Well, I have two sets of Hornady custom dies and I love them . They size full-length very well . Of course I have Redding, Lee, RCBS, Lyman . Each for a variety of different rifles and pistols . The Hornady are among the best .
