Cost of blueprinting a Rem 700 is at a minimum $250. Assuming if I would have bought this Ruger brand new today just for the action you're looking at $800-$1000. You're right in the ball park of a custom action. I'm not here to debate the merits of factory vs custom, I'm here to get the names...

Nothing wrong with them just seems like most people scoff at the idea of putting the same amount of money into truing up a ruger as it would cost to buy a custom.

I talked to him a while back about another project with a Howa action. He didn't sound interested in truing up factory actions but was willing to do just the chamber. I'd like to find someone that would spend the time to true up the face, lugs, thread etc.
