With a factory chamber is the prc click problem a big issue? I realize there’s reamers that have taken care of this but what about in regards to a factory chambered rifle? So far I’m not seeing much in regards to reloading why one is easier to live with than the other.
Ya that’s partially wanted to narrow the caliber first then I could narrow down on rifle. Seems like the Rem 700, Bergera, and savage have the most aftermarket for stocks and suck. I heard stocking is doing an xbolt stock as well McMillan when they’re in stock.
I'm narrowed down to these 2 calibers for a new LR rifle but would like a little input from the experts regarding the differences in these 2 from a reloading stand point. From what I understand they both have their issues whether that be contending with a belt or clicker issues. But if we're...
I’ve read his stuff as well and results do speak for themselves which is part of what’s swaying me but I also agree with you that would a lighter recoiling/ more controllable rifle with a 180gr bullet and impact velocity near 2k be just as effective.
To throw a wrench in things I’m fairly set on a Remington 700 long range. But now I’m reconsidering caliber. For elk comparing a 180-195gr 7mm to a 215gr 300wm at extended range is the 180-195 that far out classed? I’m worried at what point does it turn into an arms race snd end up at 338LM...
100% This fall I picked up 10x42 slc and razor hd 12x50. Even being lower magnification the slc offer a much better image. The razors aren't bad but they bounce around in my pickup now and the slc get to go on hunts.
Edit. These both replaced a set of 10x42 viper and I would not recommend those...
I think the issue is quickly resolving itself but for example Brownells has sps rifles on sale right now that are rem arm manufacture with 1-9.5. I called rem arms to see if they were reading it wrong but the early post bankruptcy guns are sku’d the same as current guns and weren’t 1-8. Shame...
Perfect thanks! Only wrench in things I can find is some of the early rem arms guns were still 1-9.5 so unless you ask the online store specifically there’s no good way to tell if you’re getting a 1-8 gun.
@xsn10s At that 3.555" how much is the bullet encroaching into the case? Are you able to take advantage of the extra case capacity of the rem mag? I'm curious if Remington throated these new guns to take advantage of the faster twist barrels.
I’m sure this has been covered but asides from more factory ammo options and no belt what’re the benefits or differences in 1-8 7 rem mag vs 1-8 7prc? Looks like a standard Remington long action mag box should be long enough to handle 180s in either relatively well?
Has anyone tried the new Remingtons? Minus not being threaded and sounds like the new Romney sucks the 700 long range looks like it gives a lot for the price. They also offer rifles in either 7rem mag or 7 prc with 1-8
Sorry I was talking bout regards of getting one in 7prc with the barrel. Round here tikkas aren’t that popular and the few used ones their are hold their value really well. A local guy has one on a gun swap site in 7mag for 750. I can get a new one cheaper than that right now off line. I’m also...
Ya it gets old on some other forums because tikka is the only answer to every question and everything else is a red ryder by comparison. Hard to call them budget when you have to spend at least 700 on the rifle then another 500 on a barrel.
