    What's your favorite game meat?

When I'm dying to get to the woods, but it's late winter/early spring, I take venison chops and go snowshoeing. About lunchtime I stop and cook them kind of rare, yum, yum. I like AJ's answer the best though.

Your Next Rifle Will Be In Which Cartridge

If I could only have one big game rifle it would probably be a .300 either in Win or Weatherby. Its big enough for elk or moose and small enough for deer, sheep and antelope. Flat shooting enough to be able to hold dead on to a decent distance and heavy enough for long range.

    No .270 wsm so I guess I can't vote.

    Lens Fogging Problem

Try Clarity Defogit. they have what they call a nano film. You can get it online. Their phone number is 800 883-6266. I just received some and rubbed a streak on my truck window. When the window fogged up the streak was clear. I tried it on sunglasses and went hiking, they never did fog up like...

    Canvas wall tent?

In another thread here I recomended Canvas Cabins from the Portland area. They are great. I haven't checked in the last 5 years, but I assume they are still in business. 12 x 15 will sleep 4 comfortably if you don't cook and have a table in the tent, 3 if you do. I use Roll-A-Cot. They are...

    Recommend a tent ?

I have had great luck with Canvas Cabins out of the Portland area. Their pole set is the best I have seen, light, but very strong. I use a 12x15 and its big enough for three people and still cook and eat. 4 people easy if you don't cook or need a table inside the tent.

Who are good outfitters for brown bear hunting?

Thank you Phil, I'll give them a try. I'd like to go in the spring of 2010. I was looking at Deltana outfitters, but they are booked. I am going sheep hunting with them this August in the Brooks range, so I'll know a lot more about Deltana after that. I have heard good things about them. Thanks...

    weatherby suggestion

I have a .340 weatherby and I just love it. It doesn't seem to kick as hard as the .300 weatherby, but I haven't tested that, just subjective feel. I thunped an elk at 357 yards this year and the one shot did the job nicely. I intend to use it on brown bear, I think it'll be perfect.

Who are good outfitters for brown bear hunting?

I want to go to the Alaskan Pennsula for a big brown bear. There are all kinds of sites on the net that all say they are the best. Has anyone had experience with this type of hunt? Thanks for any help you can give. RB
