    Scope rings

Yes. You can center the scope (with centered crosshairs) for short range or use the inserts like a canted rail.

Is it time for to me to give up on my wildcat?

To answer OP's question without judgment or unwanted technical assistance: Yes, I think you should take your project to successful completion and then post what changes you made from your original plan, such as reamer changes, gunsmith changes, brass, etc

Is it time for to me to give up on my wildcat?

Re: clickers. When I load a small batch of ammo for a range visit, I run the first carts thru a cartridge checker and the rifle chamber (without firing pin) to ensure chambering without interference. If I got clickers, I would mark the case or cart with a sharpie and repeat checking until I...

Is it time for to me to give up on my wildcat?

Maybe a bit late to the train. So, what about your rifle is not quite right? What you means by "clickers?" How accurate is it? Can you post some pics of your fired brass, of both the primers/base and the bump at .200? More to follow.

If your oldee is recoil getting to you

I was fortunate to have my torn right rotator cuff repaired several ears ago (two tears and a bicep becoming detached} , when the pain kept me awake at night. Yes, I took several years off shooting, but I am back at it now. Working from 22LR thru 250 Savage Imp to M1A this spring. I am not...

What is the rifle you passed by that you regret not buying

In the mid-80s Weisser's in San Diego had a pre-64 M-70 barreled action in 284 Win for $475, if I recall correctly. I wish I had.

    Overpressure?

Ckleeves said: "Looks like a bad primer that leaked." I agree. I had some Federal primers in the mid-80s that did that and etched a ring on the bolt face before I caught it. I dont see any signs of too high pressure. What bothers me is the apparent impression of lettering on the bolt face. Is...

    Forester Sizing dies

I have pistol die sets for five calibers: 9mm para, 38 special, 44 special, 45 ACP, and my wildcat 9-357 x .915 (kinda sorta like a 9x23 on 357 Magnum case, shortened, which I shoot in my modified Clark 38 Special M1911). I hate to be the party pooper, but none of them are complete sets by the...

    plastic flow of primer material

Good discussion. I viewed the report from Primal Rights several years ago. For Catbrain: Do you have some pics of the fired cases, before decapping? Also, have you tried different primers, that might fit tighter in the pockets? Federal brass might be soft, but it works OK for the first shot

    Help- my gun won’t group

Members have made some terrific suggestions. I can only ask about headspacing a pre-fit barrel onto an action that might have some problems. Is the headspace within limits or close to mins? Is the barrel centered? Can you post a pic of fired cases, including primers?

Is it possible for the bore and the chamber to be non-concentric ?

I have used primarily Douglas barrels. "Premium" barrels are not straightened. If it isn't Premium, it was straightened. Air gauging is a different topic. It's not real difficult to center a barrel for threading and chambering, but it's easy to screw it up without basic setup technique. (I use...

    Le wilson full length dies

208STLHD said: Would I have to buy one separately or do I not even need it? The neck bushing controls the ID of the neck. Redding makes them, too. I have also had RCBS dies converted for neck bushing.

I have an old Rem. Sportsman 78, .30-06

It's quite amazing what velocities are coming from cases less than 2 inches long, such as 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Dasher, and so many more, which might could be too short for reliable feeding in your long action. I've never heard of any real advantage to the long neck of the 6mmRem.

Yes. 788 has birch stock and says 788 on the receiver
