I like looking around at gun shows and it seems like it's always easier to find reasonably priced Marlin 336 rifles in good shape than the other models. I would look for a Marlin 336 with JM markings in a 30-30. Always nice to buy 30-30 ammo on sale for $13.00/box.

I’ve tried all kinds of high priced ammo in my model 70 trying to find a load for a first time Elk hunt. It still likes the 180 gr. Rem. Core-Lokts the best. Dunham’s just had them on sale for $12.99/box.

I'm really glad to hear that the .17 WSM worked on coyotes. After I needed multiple shots to finish a raccoon that was making a mess of my barn I was starting to think my B mag would end up being useless. It's not accurate enough to hit anything smaller than a coyote at 100 yards.
