    Accu-Shot vs RedMan 'style' bag

Kudos. I'm not a good enough shot to start changing up my shooting system @ distances of 600 + yards so I have to stick with what I practice with, a bipod in front and a rear bag. I guess I could stick two poles in the ground, tie them up, pull out three bundles of rope and pick one, or use my...

    Accu-Shot vs RedMan 'style' bag

We are talking about a rear bag under the butt end of the stock, the red man bag is small and convenient. I have used my pack for a front rest and on occasion as a rear rest while shooting down hill, but it wouldn't be my choice in a ideal situation.

    Accu-Shot vs RedMan 'style' bag

I have never used the Accu- Shot but I sure like my Red Man bag. My personal opinion is that a bag is very versatile, very fast to adjust, you can clip it on your pack, belt loop, etc. and it really takes very little time to set up. Just my thoughts, there are others with much more experience...

    bowhunting elk questions ?

I agree the Montanna decoy helps in most situations when you are alone. Pay attention to the wind when you set your decoy out. I don't know that not calling is the "best" method. I think you should be prepared to use different methods based on given situations. I have never had a problem calling...

    Archery success

Ok, I got it. Learned something new today. My father and I took these bucks in Ca. 3 weeks ago. The smaller one is my dads first deer with a bow, now age 67. The trophy in the picture is my 2 year old, Jake. I took my buck @ 52 yards, Dad got his @ 40 yards.

    Archery success

Last week I shot this bull while hunting unit 42 in Colorado. The bull is a 4X5, no trophy but pretty special to me. This was the fifth legal bull I had called in and the only one that I could cleanly shoot at. The bull trotted in from about 120 yards out, stopped broadside @ 7 yards and I let...

Snow Chains and 3rd Rifle Season in CO?

I just got back from Co. today. Needed chains last week just for the mud. I would never think about going with out chains, you could need them for mud or snow at any time. While chained up in the mud I passed a truck that had slid off the road and a quad that had rolled over off the side of the...

WEll is everyone dialed in, tuned up, and ready to go...

Yep, I'm ready to go, wait, I mean I'm finished. I took a buck in California a couple weeks ago @ 56 yards and a Bull Elk four days ago in Colorado @ 7 yards. I'm just getting home and will be posting the story on Mon. once I get some free time. I was shooting a Mathews Drenalin @ 67 lbs easton...

Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX III?

Rob Welcome to the forum. I have enjoyed some of your scope reviews on the campfire, I just don't post over there too much for various reasons. I recently put a Sightron S11 big sky on my wifes 7mm08 and I am pretty impressed with the quality of the scope.I'm just pulling in to Grand Junction...

Conversation with Richard Franklin about the 300 Varminter..

I'm sure you could talk to wildcat, but he isn't here anymore. Probably could get a good deal on his 300 varminter too. Kinda nice around here with him gone.

Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX III?

Have a look @ the Monarch X line of scopes. 30 mm tube, really good glass, really nice turrets. If you look around you can find one new for about 900.00. I think it is a fair price on a really good scope. Mike

    300WM vs 300 RUM sendero

I have no problem with my Sendero 300RUM. I had Shawn Carlock add a muzzle break, cheek piece, skim bed it and adjust the trigger. Load developement took about a hundred rounds to find the right one, I settled on Nosler E- tips and also tried barnes TSX. I have to shoot copper where I live so my...

Nikon 1200 vs Bushnell 1500 rangefinder

I got a Leica 1200 LRF from Cameraland for the same price. It was a demo unit with a warranty and a better range finder than the two you mentioned. I also own the Bushnell 1500 Elite and only keep it for a back up and bow hunting. I do like the ARC feature on the Bushnell for Bow hunting.

    SOLD/EXPIRED What power spotting scope

I have a nikon ED spotter and for the price I think it is the best value going. The eye relief could be better and the scope may not be the best choice for a person that has glasses. If you don't wear glasses I think it is a great choice. Mike
