I run an Atlas bipod. When I set up I clear an area so I can get prone to take the shot. Part of the hunt. I take a tripod rig a well and can quickly remove my spotter and put on the gun, but I prefer to go prone. PB

Note to 300WM shooters, keep 16 lbs of H1K on hand 24/7. Just saying its a good idea. PB

I have shot about 300 rounds and in gas and bolt guns. Similar results. Another cheap option is S&B crap for $11 a box. It shoots great to but for long range the BC is atrocious. PB

I'm beating a dead horse, but at 900 yards im thinking 7mag or 300mag. Its fun to pop steal with 6.5 to 1000 but is it got enough *** left at 900 yards, I sincerely don't know.

300WM is my favorite cartridge. I have 6.5's and 308's and all have their place, but 300 rules the roost. We have RWS brass on 10 plus loadings. This belted nonsense is just that. PB

Many peeps complain about the "belted" magnums but my buddy who does our reloading has never had an issue. Pushing 225 ELD's @ 2887fps and sub Moa will solve most issues.

I use H1K as well. Pushing 220/225 ELD's to 2887fps with 75grains. Ue Norma and RWS brass. Best of luck.

308 is fine inside 400 yards, but a many folk would prefer a magnum. I know an outfitter in AZ that pushes the magnums for his clients. People kill Elk with a 243 as well…you hit them right and they will die. Best of luck.
