How To Dope The Wind Beyond Belief-DVD Review

Walkinghorseman, I looked everywhere for your name on national championship rosters but could find no walkinghorseman as winners!:) You have shot enough to know that there is no easy way to dope the wind. There s no formula that will give perfect results. The video was intended to help beginners...

    1000 Yard + group size

To quote my friend, Bobby Hart on his guarantee for accuracy, " all his guns will shoot one hole groups at 1000 yards! ( one shot group)!

    1000 Yard + group size

One other thought, the most important shot is that first, cold bore shot. It is the one that matters in a hunting situation and if it isn't in your group , the group doesn't matter! Reserve a 1000 yard target for a couple of days and shoot only one shot each day cold bore! For hunting, that is...

    1000 Yard + group size

My best ever measured group was at Harry Jones Memorial in May of 2012 if anyone wants to look up the results, it was a 4.24 , 5 shot with my 6.5-284 sendero with a Hart barrel. I shot four or five times after that in competition and never did that well again. Must have been beginners luck as...

    1000 Yard + group size

I wasn't trying to step on toes, just wanted a new guy to not be discouraged by everyone else shooting quarter minute groups at 1000 yards. looking at what the professionals do is a realistic way to see real groups on paper that are truly measured and validated. I'm serious about you guys...

    1000 Yard + group size

Go to the Harry Jones memorial site and check out the scores of all their light gun, 5 shot groups. These are guys with 17 pound guns and hours of work in what they do and most of them would be thrilled with 5 inch groups! You guys that are bragging about all of your 5 inch, 1000 yard groups...

    26 Nosler?

Does anyone on here understand ballistics? With a BC of close to .600 and 3500 fps, the 10 mph crosswind drift is about 3MOA at 1000 yards. That is really helpful when trying to dope the wind on targets or game. The 129 grain ABLR was designed for long range and the 26 can shoot it with less...

What do you think long range is?

Long range is any time you must compensate for altitude, angle, temperature, wind or other factor such as inability to hold the gun study due to fatigue, cold, excitement, pride, fear, anger or a host of other emotions that cause you or your target to move! The weapon also plays in to the equation...

    7MM Nosler ABLR

I would start about 90 or 100 thousandths off the lands. They don't shoot well up close and don't be disappointed with your 100 yard groups, they go to sleep after about 300 yards and seem to group very well from there on out.

7mm RM accubond LR Load Data

I just shot some groups with the 168's in 7mm and got pretty good results with 70 g of H1000 with a coal of 3.35. That is about .090 shorter than what I load Bergers but the Noslers seem to do better with more jump to the lands. I got 3 shots at just under an inch at 300 yards and less than 6...

Lets beat this horse one more time

Do you fly anywhere to Hunt? 7mm ammo can be bought most anywhere and while it might not be your special reload, it will shoot well enough out to 400 yards . Loosing your luggage and ammo is a bummer but even more so if you can't find exotic calibers in foreign countries!

    reticle leveling

Canting, do you cant? One of the biggest issues for a long range shooter is canting. What effect does canting have on shot placement and is a scope level necessary to prevent canting? Canting is the act of tilting your gun to one side or the other...

effects of elevations on custom turrets

Keep in mind that 20 degrees in temperature change equals 1000 feet in elevation change , so going up in altitude and down in temperature, things tend to cancel each other out. A rough rule of thumb is I/3 moa at 1000 yards for each 1000 feet or 20 degrees temperature change. at 750 yards, 1/6th...
