    Let’s see your custom 6.5-300 Weatherby/6.5 Weatherby/Wright/Hoyer

I’d like to try some of the Cutting Edge Bullets but dang they are expensive. Some are over $90/50. I used to work the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show (back when it was called that) for Bobbly Hart and he shared his booth space with them. Dan and Trap are very upstanding guys and very detail...

Ok but what did he do to fix that. I would question that since this cartridge was worked on by Roy himself in the 50’s and people have been shooting it ever since with out these issues.

I don’t want to high jack the thread but this video bothers me on the 6.5-300 Bee. So if the original poster wants to delete it I’m ok with that. 44 seconds into the video Adam claims he helped develop the 6.5-300 Weatherby. I posted a comment 2 years ago asking what he did to develop the...

It’s a shame they didn’t have the bullets we have now back then. My gun having been built in the late 60’s has a 10 twist barrel and won’t shoot some of the longer heavier bullets very well. When it gets a new barrel it will most likely be. 1:75 or 1:8 twist Hart barrel.

weatherby didn’t have to do anything really. It was all already out there before Adam was born probably.

Always enjoyed shooting with Sid at Williamsport. He built my cousins 6.5-284. We lost a great smith when he passed away.

This gun was originally built back in the late 60’s or early 70’s by my great uncle to shoot 1k at Williamsport, Pa. It’s an accursed 700 action with what I believe to be a Douglas barrel. I had used the action to build another benchrest rifle and just recently had it put back in its original...

    7mm STW or 28 Nosler?

I never had much trouble finding something that works well in my gun nor has my uncle with his. My cousin had an STW at one time and it was a one load only gun. He got rid of it after a lot of frustration.

    7mm STW or 28 Nosler?

I agree with all of this and this is what you can do. Or as I’ve said before just build a 7mm-300 Weatherby and simply neck down and have STW performance. You can use 300 WBY brass or call Quality Cartridge and have them make you 7mm-300 Wby head stamped brass. I agree with getting the faster...

My two predator rifles. Savage axis .223 with Boyd’s thumb hole stock and a savage Axis with a Douglas 17 REM barrel for the many red fox in my area. You see both of the setups I’ve run with the .17. One just scoped and the other setup with night vision.

    7mm STW or 28 Nosler?

@Playtimefun You are correct in the time frame. My 7-300 was built by my dad and uncle back around 1979-80. My great uncle was a 1k competition shooter at Williamsport, Pa at the time and encouraged him to build a long range gun in that caliber. I also have a 6.5-300 Weatherby (Weatherby...
