    Go/No-Go Primer Pocket Gauge?

Thanks, guys. These are excellent solutions. I figured the community would know how to help.

    Go/No-Go Primer Pocket Gauge?

Greetings. I am tired of doing the full cycle of brass prep only to discover that the primer pockets are too loose when I get to that last step before charging with powder. Generally it also wastes a good primer when a pocket is too loose as it rattles around in there but won't come out so it...

    338 win mag bear bullet

If memory serves, in American Hunting Rifles II, Boddington surveys brown bear guides and finds that some of them feel that even a 338 is too light. Somewhere in there he makes it clear that the 375H&H is considered "the" brown bear caliber by most of the guides. I'm heading up there this year...

For hunting: Zeiss Conquest V6 3-18x50 or ???

FWIW: I like the Leupold VX6 so much I bought 5 of them for my long range hunting guns. I only bought one of the HD version as it came out after I bought the other four and it is, indeed, a half step better, hat with the several new features, but the glass is more than good enough on all of...

Which bullet for deer for 6.5CM inside 400 yards?

Proof? As in empirical science? There is loads of it out there and I've read some of it, done by the people who study the mortality rates and causes of death of scavengers who feed on carcasses of game shot with lead projectiles but lost by hunters and farmers. However, I trust you can find...

Which bullet for deer for 6.5CM inside 400 yards?

Your parameters are pretty easy to meet and there are many bullets you could try. But here are my two cents. Cent #1: I don't like lead in my food; I don't have any IQ points to spare. So I start with the non-toxics and see if they'll shoot. Anything under an inch will work at 400 yards or...

    I can’t figure this out

Glad to hear you're having this trouble because I am too, although yours appears far worse. I'm shooting a .264 Win Mag through a Sako 75 action with a Pac-Nor Supermatch barrel, 8-twist, 26 inches long, 150 rounds through it, scrupulously cleaned and then pre-fouled with 3 rounds at powder...

    Need a copper load

Chad: Stupid me. I wondered why my shooting jacket has big sweat stains in the armpits. Must be all the lead I've ingested over the years. Carl

    Need a copper load

First: I, for one, am sick of all the California bashing that goes on in the gun community and what occurred in response to this gentleman's posting. I have traveled in all 50 states and lived in many of them and there is NO place as nice as California, especially on the coast. I have lived...

    Barnes New Varmint Grenade Test

I thought the same until my gunsmith told me to start by loading the 36 grain .22 Varmint Grenades to touch the lands. Ultimately got them to shoot best at .005 in my Sako 14 twist 22-250. I went from 3+ inch groups at .050 off the lands to about 1/2 inch groups by spending an afternoon...

Need 6mm BR Varmint Grenade Loads

Hey Folks: Got a brand new build - Sako 75 III fully accurized, Pac Nor Super Match 8 twist 26". Lights-out with Berger 105 VLDs but I need loads for 62 grain Barnes Varmint Grenades. Little help here? Ozzie

    270 win & H4350

I second Reloader222's note - my .270's all have 22 inch barrels 'cause they're huntin' guns - and I believe that's one reason why 55 of H4350 works so well for me. Regarding previous posts - be sure to try shorter jumps before you stop accuracy testing. My guns generally shoot .050 off lands...

    270 win & H4350

Yeah, RL19 is an old stand-by for me too. Just not as accurate in my .270 rifles as H4350 - close but no cigar. That's a pretty stiff load you're pushing, too. I have a tight tournament chamber in my Lilja and that much juice craters my primers pretty good. I save the real barn-burning for...

    270 win & H4350

Oh yeah - forgot to add: seating depth is way more important to accuracy in my guns than powder choice when shooting the non-toxics. If you're gonna mess around with the load, I'd advise spending most of your throat wear on that variable.

    270 win & H4350

I have used H4350 exclusively in my two Browning White Gold Medallion .270s for awhile now. One of them has a 22" Lilja #5 contour while the other still carries the factory barrel. Since I'm from California I shoot 130 gr. TTSXs in them but I like that bullet so much that I use it everywhere I...
