7mm-08 I was using one when I was 11 weighing less than 100lbs and the recoil it didn’t bother me. Also have a 6.5-284 Norma and the recoil is about the same to me but it’s a 8lb rifle we’re my 7–08 is lighter

Having only hunted whitetail for now it has to be 7mm-08. But got a 6.5-284 this year and have really fallen for it.

I have savage model 16 weather warrior in 7mm-08 and a Montana rifle company x2 in 6.5-284 and I can’t tell any difference in recoil the Montana does weighs a little but not much.

I have a Savage model 16 weather warrior 7mm-08 I bought years ago. That’s what I would recommend
