    Coyote thermal kill at 880

One heck of a shot for a thermal! I recently went out with my buddy who has a Super Hogster setup on a suppressed AR. He has a Two Vets carbon tripod that held the rifle like a bench rest. Solid! I made a DRT shot at or near 150 yards. We are both currently building 6x6.8 AR’s using 58 grain...

New Owner of Remington Arms Talks of its FUTURE

Remington could fashion their assembly facility just like Toyota. All the parts needed for the day arrive just in time for assembly. Here in southern Indiana we have a Toyota assembly plant. All day long you see Semitic trailers arriving with frames, parts and what is needed to build a vehicle...

    Elk hunting with 45/70

If you cast your own I would highly recommend the 330 Gould HP bullet. I think my mold is a Lyman. You wanna talk about plastering deer. I cast mine from soft lead for whitetails. I’m certain that you could cast them with harder lead for elk. I also have a 405 wfn gas check mold made by Ranchdog...

    Burning Coal

OP you want coal from Indiana, Illinois or Kentucky. My dad , grandpa and about every relative of mine is or was a coal miner. I’m a half assed blacksmith and use coal in my forge. I get my coal from a coal testing facility nearby. I get 50-100 pound bags. You can tell the difference in coal...

    Kenetrek's leak?

I’ve got a lot of miles and nasty weather under my Hanwags. So far so good. Dry feet! I went to buy Kennetreks and the sales lady talked me into the Hanwags. She knew more about boots than any person I ever met. Glad she talked me into the Hanwags. I bought the Hanwags at the sporting goods...

    New project!! .30 LR Rifle

Velvet I went with the standard base screws. So far all is well. I don’t see a problem with the standard(yet). The pic rail is something I can live or live without. I had one handy so I just used it. I sniff around on longrangeonly.com I found a article on bedding the pic rail which I did. If...

    New project!! .30 LR Rifle

The advantage of having two in the Mag and one in the chamber is when elk hunting I can remove the chambered round when climbing over deadfall or clambering over rocks. I still have two in the Mag if I should suddenly see a elk or grizzly I can cycle the bolt and be ready. I thought of the...

    New project!! .30 LR Rifle

Velvet he machined the rear. If you look at the action out of the stock the machine work cuts out the front screw hole for the trigger guard. When I spoke to Issac he said he had fitted quite a few Wyatt box’s over the years. The Wyatt box fit perfectly. I found just because my Wyatt box has 4”...

Velvet here is an additional photo of the 220 ELDX 3.86”. It also shows the bolt going further to the rear due to the bolt stop being notched out.

    New project!! .30 LR Rifle

Velvet I center shot my chrony a few months back with my 264 win Mag. I’ve yet to replace it. The 200 Accubond load has 94 grains of Retumbo. The 220 ELDX is using 89 grains of Retumbo. I wish I could get you FPS however I’m about to have surgery and will be out of commission for a while.
