.243 Ackley Improved and Reloder 16

I don't have a .243 AI, but I do have a 270 AI; same problem not much reloading info out there. I agree with what Venatic said: "use the load 45.1 that shot well to fireform all your brass". That shoots a nice pattern so you can use it for target/varmint shooting while you get a nice...

    Change my mind

When I first bought my 300 RUM I was shooting factory 180 gr bullets and I honestly think it was giving me a slight concussion. I'd shoot 5 and have a headache for 2 days. I ended up putting a Limbsaver AirTech recoil pad with it's enclosed air chamber like individual airbags on, Night...

    .270 Win + RL26 = Holy Cow

I too am curious what his max charge was. Here is an article I read that first tipped me off that I might need a faster twist. If you do the formula with the 150 Accubond LR (length of 1.390) it shows a twist rate of 1:8.2, assuming the formula is correct. Now I will say that in my...

    .270 Win + RL26 = Holy Cow

I started down this rabbit hole with my Rem 700 270 and a 22" barrel about 4 years ago. I had always shot 130gr in the 270 win and was given a ton of older 150gr bullets, so I decided to find the max velocity I could push them for coyote hunting. The max i could find in any book was...

    Bought a .270 Today

I threw a 26" 1:8 twist proof sendero light barrel on my 270 and chambered it to 270 A.I., initial patterning (after I shot 2 shots not set up on the bipod properly) with 150gr Long Range Accubonds running at 3200 fps measured .325". Love it!

Ole 270 comes back to life!

We worked up a load with the 150gr ABLR and RL26 in my dad's old Savage 110 270 24" barrel. 59.5 grains was right at 3000 fps and a nice tight triangle pattern.

Does anyone run a custom 270 win?

Long story short I went down a rabbit hole that started with just trying to shoot a bunch of old 150 grain bullets in my 270 win and stumbled onto the new at the time Reloder 26 that showed reloading data of over 3000 fps. Well I got the velocity and more but couldn't get a pattern under 2...

    Bedding compounds

I have used the Terminal Ballistics Studies Match Grade Bedding Compound and liked it. It comes pre packaged for a job with enough to do a full Bedding job and no measuring just pour the little bottle into the tub and mix, and it has steel in it I believe. I was very impressed with the strength...

Are talley one piece rings strong enough?

I used them on a Weatherby MK V 300 Weatherby with a Night force NXS 12-42 x 50 scope and had no movement. It doesn't have a break on it though so I don't know if it would hold up to that. I didn't lap the rings on that one either.

SOLD/EXPIRED WTT 4-16X50mm Vortex HSLR FFP XLR Reticle

Do you still have this scope for trade? My friend has a Nightforce 12x42x56 with the MLR reticle, would you be interested in that?

    Hello from Montana

Hello, my name is Kevin and live in Cut Bank, MT, roughly 30 miles from Canada and 60 from the Rocky Mountain front. I am starting to get into long range shooting, however hunting out here can routinely call for 600 yard shots on deer. So far my longest shot has been on a 16" gong at 850 yards...
