Energy or bullet diameter most important?

Okay!! Since neither of us truely have any idea of each other's hunting experiences I will concede that the 6.5 Creedmore or for that matter any hunting rifle in the hands of a " proficient hunter" would be deadly. However your remarks got my attention for the simple balistic differences that...

Hornady CX 190 gr 30 cal

Yes 100yd group size, total of 6, 3CX and 3LRX. This was an intial test for the powder, RL26, to determine what velocity would result. My goal now will be to adjust the distance from the lands for the best accuracy. As a note the CX group had 2 shots touching and one flyer about 1 plus inches...

    Testing Hornady's new CX bullet

My firing range opened today so I can finally provide some range results. I loaded some 300WM and compared the Hornady 190gr CX with the Barnes 190 LRX . The loads were 79 gr of RL 26, Fed 215 primer, col of each was 100 of the lands and 24 barrel. 190 CX@3118, 3885 FT/LBS 190 CX@3134, 3925...

    Stop neck sizing your brass!!!

Sounds like people not checking their brass after firing. Once fired brass that won't chamber is probably a pressure problem from over max powder load or bullet sitting on the lands. Anyway it's pressure created by the loader.

    Reloader 26

I Have those powders! Believe me they don't compare to the velocities you get with R 26. I contacted Reloader about availability and they are shipping it worldwide and they have no control over the distrbution once it enter the US markets. Good luck.

Berger VLD pencil through Elk in Cold?

If you are truly a meat hunter the last thing you want is a blowup bullet. Loosing a quarter on any animal can be a substantial loss of eatable meat.
