    Boyd's Stock for K31

Ive had a Swiss K31 in military guise for a few weeks now. It's a blast to shoot, hits hard, and is quite accurate. Beautiful bore, bluing, and crown. I'm wondering, other than shaving a bit of weight, are there benefits to a sporter stock? Does the K31 benefit from floating? Bedding? How...

7mm rem mag vs. 270 win

All differences aside, both are top tier for stomping ***, so long as you practice, but my nod for having the fuel to effectively lay out big game at long range is the 7mm. If energy is king, ballistic coefficient is queen, and design is the ace in the hole.

Barn wood European mount display board

Spraying with Kilz in white works well too. Gives it that snow white look without the sheen.

Barn wood European mount display board

European mounts are my fave. Classic looks, DIY, and no heads jutting outta the wall. Very nice job.

Golden Bear 125 sp looks interesting.

    7.62 vs .243

I've been in the market for another deer rifle, this time purely "mid-range". Now, I already own a .243, but I am picking up a Saiga 7.62 x39 in the next few days. Never mind accuracy, as I have both guns already (the first Saiga is purely tactical), and both can hit where I aim, but am I...

    Got a new toy

Im anal, so I regularly clean literally after every range trip, minus running a boresnake through every once in awhile to clear gunk out on extended shooting sessions. I can honestly say I have personally never seen the difference in accuracy when shooting a new gun and performing said "break...

What system, MOA or Mil, do you use?

No argument. Don't see where anyone sees an argument. This IS an LR forum, and I prefer a range finder. If it were to fail (which it hasn't, even in fog), the I'd appreciate the MIL reticle, which I voted for. In respect to fellow members, I voted so I'll shut up on this topic. Good day.

What system, MOA or Mil, do you use?

I'll have to find you the thread I found not too long ago about using your surroundings to estimate wind speed, I.e. Leaves, trees, dirt scattered in the wind. I'll find it for you. It's very intuitive, and I trust in the application. I'm not going to pass up EVERY shot, I'm going to maximize my...

What system, MOA or Mil, do you use?

Can't predict drop when you don't know how far your target is. I see your other points, and agree about wind, temperature, humidity, even the Earths rotation being able to throw your lead off target. But drop isn't any more predictable without knowing your dope. Wind deflection, just like drop...

    7.62x39 questions for pigs

Aks work **** good, and Saigas are even better. Don't let the "30-30 is the same" guys bug you. There is more oomph in a x39.They have striking similarities, not definite twin ballistics. The 7.62x39 is superior in all aspects other than ammunition choice. I'd venture it a 200 yd medium sized...

    7.62x39????

You are more than welcome to use it. I'd agree:bout the only 30-30 I might see as able to sit at the table with the x39 is the Leverevolution. I have used it as well, and it made a "devastating travesty" of an old ten pointer at twenty yards. Speaks well for that rounds expansion...
