I think you better add a little to the barrel, if you are going to put a stock on it. Encore is a fine weapon.

I have a encore, 308, 15 inch. barrel. With a full load it will kill deer to 300 yrds. Not to much fun to shot, but will get the job done. Most of the time I load down for it. Just got me a 3006 barrel for it. 24 inch will shoot for a while then put A behind 3006.

I have been hunting deer with a encore 308, with a full load its all I want to hang on to. have a good Day.

The only reason i asked how cheap, I think CMP. is selling a few for around 450.00. I have a custom A303. In 3006 Ackley.

I am happy someone eles enjoys a fine rifle. I shoot a N.match, M1A. With iron sites if I can see it, I can hit to 800 yrds. I was trained for Vietnam. Have fun.

Here we go again. I like the Sierra MatchKing. In 30RUM. I have shot them all. They will do the job.

go with the 30 RUM. Recoil is not bad.

I enjoyed that I use them all the time. My rifle loves them.
