    .45-70 Grizz Defense

In dense timber I would op for a hand gun something more manuverable in tight spaces, either 44 mag with buffalo bore ammo or a 460 rowland. There is a great conversionfor a glock 21. At least add to spotter for backup to 45-70

Brand new CA Ridgeline 300 PRC Chambering issue?

No freebore and square lands would definetly cause the problems you have. Have your smith take a 30 cal throating reamer and cut it till you don't mark the bullet. should only take a few thousandths.

    Best Caliber Rifle Elk

Ditto on what bigngreen said "Shot placement and bullet function are what kill elk, that's it! Foot pounds of energy, cal or size of case all have little to nothing to do with successfully and cleanly taking elk, elk don't magically soak up bullets nor are they particular hard to kill, a bullet...

    Handling wild hog meat

The main way from what I understand to contract disease from hogs is when you gut them. Many guys I know do a gutless processing, hams, shoulders and backstrap thus leaving the ribs and inside untouched what a waste but they feel is safer. I just wear dishwashing gloves and make sure I wash all...

    Choice of caliber for coyotes

My first designated gun to hunt yotes was a RRA Varmint 20 inch 223 wylde it loved 75 grain hollow points. farthest kill was 425 yards. Guaranteed sub 1/2 moa and did not fail. That being said the 6x45 or as others call it 6mmx223 with 70 or 75 grain pills, and the 6.5 grendel with 90 or 100...

    Kinda torn!!! Build advice

I know you said 300 PRC or 300 WM but for components and performance 30-06 AI will do the job on elk and deer. Load with 180 grain bullets. and in a pinch off the shelf 30-06 ammo works. I built Rem 700 with X caliber 20 inch 9.5 twist barrel and it shot amazing, wish I had never sold it...

    Reloading for a 6.5 Grendel

I have used 8208xbr with 123 SST but a friend of mine just did a load with 29.5 grains CFE and 130 eldx that shot 5 within 1/2 inch. I am going to try with some 129 sst bullets I have.
