    Muzzle break

I put an American Precision Arms Little B* on a custom 7mm. I did lots of research and relied on the some great research and field tests that showed the APA was pretty much the best overall break. It you want to correct muzzle jump specifically JEC Customs was the best for that. It was my #2 pick.

Is there a way to tighten up velocity, ES, & SD?

first thing that comes to mind is your powder. Sounds like to me your powder thrower is not consistent with each load. Try weighing each charge and load up 10 rounds to see if it's more consistent for you.

Custom action help. Which one is best?

I built mine on a Defiance deviant hunter action. They have been a top choice of shooters in the PRS for years. It took almost 6 months to get it from the time I ordered it so keep that in mind. If I didn't go with Defiance, my next choice was Surgeon.

Custom action help. Which one is best?

Just to clarify, the Templar action is built by Defiance and is not a Remington clone. It can be dropped into a stock that was cut for a Remington 700 if specified, but that's true of almost every other custom action.

    Thinking about 25-06

The first rifle I purchased was a Weatherby Fibermark in .257 weatherby. I started reloading for it day 1 since weatherby ammo was so expensive. Ballistically the gun is amazing. Flat shooter, lots of velocity and capable of taking Elk. It's a great all around gun. My main complaint, is the...

My favorite LR cartridge is 7STW-What's yours

I shoot a 7mm Rem Mag and I think you are not taking advantage of the great bullets that are out there starting at 162g and up. The 7STW is capable of pushing the Berger 180 hybrid target and even the 195 elite hunter as good velocities. Couple that with the high B.C's those bullets offer and...

    Hunting muzzle brakes

There is more to consider when choosing a muzzle break. If you're looking for the best break for reducing recoil I would look at American Precision Arms (APA) Little B*. I have this on a custom 7mm and the recoil is nothing. If you are looking for a break that does a good job with recoil...

    cross winds & downdrafts at 1150 & 1625

Crosswinds don't just move a bullet left or right, but actually move a bullet up and down depending on the direction. Crosswind moving left to right will move the bullet down. Winds moving right to left will cause the bullet to rise. I believe this explains why you had to make an elevation...
