    Ballistic Calculator NEED HELP

I use an Android phone app called Strelok+. It's available in Google's Play store. It's helped me get first shot hits on the range to 400m. I got a 300m first shot hit on a soda can sized container of Tannerite. Easy to use and way cool.

Whats the best cold temp bolt lube ?

lightbulbOne great lube for cold conditions is kerosene. You can get descented kerosene in the form of French Horn rotary valve oil. NOT trumpet valve oil. Rotary valve oil is extemely thin and works great in cold weather.

Best LRH caliber to start with?

I'm just a few steps ahead of you in my LRH. I've hunted elk with a traditional muzzle loader so I know it doesn't take a shoulder breaking howitzer to bring them down. I'm starting with a Remington 700 ADL in .270. It was a very good shooter to start with. I floated the barrel myself and then I...

    Nervous about bedding my rifle...

I too sat on pins and needles doing my first stock bedding job. I don't think I slept the night the bedding was setting up. My heart fell through the floor when the barrel didn't release on the first try. But a little more persuading and it all worked out great. This video clip is by Larry...

    My Entry Into LRH

I actually goofed on my scale. I should have loaded 59.5grns but loaded 55.5. I'm going to redo the load and see if it's any better. It would still be a good lite deer load.

    My Entry Into LRH

Start hand loading for my Rem 700. I used Nosler 130gr Ballastic Tip boat tail, with 55.5grns of H4831. The 100yard test was .65" sub MOA. The picture is of my 425 yard test. I chronographed the rounds at 2700fps. I think it is a bit slow for what I'm looking for. Over all for starting out I...

Bore Snake... A better way to clean???

Great idea! I'll "snag" a .243 snake and that should work just fine for fast field swipes. Thanks!

Bore Snake... A better way to clean???

I just experienced this problem. My snake got stuck and the line broke I couldn't get the remainder out and it took two gunsmiths to finally clear it. Unfortunately this event screwed up the accuracy of my rifle. It used to shoot .50 MOA groups and now it's shooting 1.5" MOA groups. I don't...

    what caliber for hogs/deer/coyotes?

I use .270 on pigs and it does a great job. I found that I can use the Fusion ammo in 130gr and get great accuracy. This is at 200yards.

Free Hog Hunting or Free Lodging

Frankly guys this is the best deal I have heard of for shooting pigs. I live in San Antonio and I'm always looking for reasonable deals under $150.00 to hunt hogs. Most of the time it's $150.00 for up to two hogs is the lowest I've heard. A number of ranches want $300.00 for two day hunt for two...

    My Entry Into LRH

Where I belong and shoot as is primarily a muzzle loading gun club. However; most of our members just need a range to use and don't do the BP thing. We have some members that are serious military weapons shooters but not a lot of folks are there for long range shooting. The club is working on a...
