I liked the velocities I was getting, but did not get the accuracy I was looking for with 50 and 55's in 22-250. Haven't shot in extreme cold, but have shot in high heat with out problem. One of the better powders in my 223 though with 50-55's.
Kevin,
Thanks for the reply. I bought 1lb of the stuff today and loaded 25 rounds. I hope to hit the range and do some prelim testing for velocity and accuracy.
I will let you know when I get a chance and relay the pertinent information.
Ok, now that this stuff is available in the US, has anyone tried it? I am going to load of the 300rum using 190vlds and 208amaxs. Looking to see how it compares to other well established powders used in overbore mags...
Thanks in advance.

I can tell you that with 98.5 grains of Retumbo and 190 VLD out of my 28" tube, I was getting 3420-3450 out of mine...at least that's what my chronograph indicated. I have not been able to get awesome ES and SD's with Retumbo, but it has proved to be accurate at 1000K during ladder testing...
I would check out the sticky thread in the reloading section about getting the best performance and accuracy with Vlds. It will help you get the sweet spot you are looking for with these bullets. Essentially you start with the bullet .010 jammed into the lands, then back it off .040, and then...
Now that VV N-570 is on the market I am going to give it a whirl. Have had good luck with N-560 in my 243. About 150fps faster than another powder that I have used for 90-95g BT and Scirocco with accuracy .5 to .6 at 200yds.
Have a feeling that with 208 Amax and 210 Vld's will give the...
I ran a ladder test a few weeks ago at 1K using Retumbo and 208 Amax's. My chronograph was reading unreliably so I don't know the velocities, but I started at 94g of Retumbo and ran it 96.5g in .5g increments. Bullet was lightly jammed in the lands.
95 grains was my best 5 shot group...
I have a project gun that I have been working on for a while and the stock needs a fresh paint. Can anyone offer tips on how to prep and what kind of paint is best for these types of stocks? I just don't know how the Kevlar and fiberglass shell will take paint...surely don't want it to look...
The Stiller is a Remington clone. Will work with (DROP IN) your stock, trigger and any other Remington aftermarket part. That's the beauty of it. I have built several rifles and for me, this type of semi-custom action is the way to go on a precision LR rig. It's one thing to already have a...
I would consider going with a semi-custom action rather than a remmy that needs to be trued. It will cost a little more, but have the features you are looking for and probably have greater resale (if that day ever comes). Take into consideration the purchase and trueing of the factory action...
