Most 700s in 25-06 are very hard to find these days. I’d go with a tikka even a savage both proven shooters. And probably much easier to find

I agree I gave that x-bolt to my younger brother. We are huge 25-06 fans and that gun is a 270. He always uses his savage axis 25-06 over it just because of the caliber. Figured if I could rebarrel it he’d use the browning more.

That’s what I’m thinking. Just wanted to see if anyone else has done it.

Have 5 boxes of Remington premier 338rum loaded with 250gr swift a-frame. Sold the rifle not long ago and probably won’t get another one. Figured I’d let the ammo go as well. Will take 250 for the whole lot.

My gunsmith just built a x-bolt with a proof barrel in 300rum for a client. Has me interested in putting a new barrel on my 270 eclipse. Has anyone else done this? Or would you just sell the browning and go with a 700 or custom action?

Every bullet I’ve tried in the 25-06 has dropped them in where they stood. Besides a 85gr Nosler ballistic tip it ran maybe 10 yards

Sounds like a deadly combo. I run the 115gr ballistic tip Nosler out of mine at almost 3200 with retumbo

What length barrel and how fast did it push them?

I planned on trying some of hammers options out of it. And they recommend a 1.7

Looking at getting a couple 1.7 twist 25cal blanks from pbb. Wanting to have my smith build a couple 25-06ai. I’ve seen a lot of great reviews. But also a handful of mixed ones as well. Just looking for some feedback on them before I go ahead and order. And is it worth getting them lapped?

Take 1050 for it will throw in a box or two of 105gr a-max and 107gr Sierra
