I guess that is a mixed question and there are many opinions. I have only shot about 700 rds thru my build. My dad has a pre 64 that he bought in the early 70's and has shot it a lot ! It still shoots 1/2" groups.

Caliber of choice for some 1000 yard tactical shooters. Pretty easy to get a 105 or better yet 115 VLD to that range. I have shot mine to 800 with ease, just haven't had a chance to get to 1k. Great caliber, and very mild recoil.

Must be the gun. I use 42 grains of varget, any more than that and my accuracy goes away. I'm happy with the load anyways, and have the gun figured out to 600 yards. A little more speed might be a nice addition, but it's so hard to find powder, I'll stick with varget.
