Thanks for the input guys. In this area like I said beforee, we have all three, wolves, Coyotes and Coy-wolves ( Which is a wolf with more Wolf genes than Coyote genes.) The wolves in this area are what are known to be the Eastern Red Wolf which was once thought to be extinct and has come back...

Why would anyone even think of gutting a road kill?? I have picked up many a road kill but use them only for wolf bait! Brings them in like crazy!

I use a Jake in behind a hen decoy. You should see the old Toms come charging in.....it doesnt even enter their mind to have the hen come to them....try it and see

While sitting in my tree stand, I have used a fawn in distress call and it has worked for Black Bears, but this could also be the fact that I had bear bait hanging. I like to use beavers..and sweets...deadly in my area. The fawn in distress just makes them come in faster and angry is my guess...

Last black bear I shot was with a. 303 British at about 70 yards up in a tree stand over my bait. Switched to a Browning Hunter A bolt II in. 300 wsm for this coming season.
