Yes, any time I’ve added any weight to the end of a barrel I’ve noticed a POI change.

Yes sir, cleared over the entire stock…always taped off the bedding and the barrel channel…everything else was coated. This was always automotive sprayed and baked so I have no idea how the can stuff would work. He was layering several coats, this stuff was several thousandths thick.

I’ve done a few…have an automotive paint guy clear coat them and put them in the oven at a lower temp for a longer than his normal time. I had a local guy who would shoot them for less than $100 but I had to have them taped off and ready to be painted. It’s crazy the depth it adds to the swirly.

I like a recessed crown on barrels that isn’t going to have a suppressor or brake on it. I like 11 degree on those. I’ve not seen one shoot better than the other, but that 11 degree is way easier to clean carbon off of.

I wouldn’t do a thing until you start reloading and get someone to help you work up a load for that barrel. If after that it wouldn’t shoot to your liking I would then weigh your options. You have no clue how well that barrel will shoot only shooting factory ammo. With that said…you get...

Agree with LK. For me carbon makes sense for 22+” if you shoot suppressed…yes, I have a 16 and 20” just cuz I like the look. But for the longer barrels and needing a .725 shoulder puts you into a heavy profile steel barrel that adds a ton of weight over carbon.

I built me a 22" 30 Nosler and my hunting buddy a 22" 300prc. Both great cartridges…I'd not hesitate to build another. Good luck.

I’m more of a tripod guy or 3-9” Atlas on a bench. Buddy of mine really speaks highly of the Hatch bipod for hunting. What components did you end up going with?
