    25wssm

I don't have the 25WSSM, but think that it would be an excellent choice for varmints and deer size animals. I shoot the .25-06 and think your's is just more of a better thing. Try the 75gr Sierra HP and Hornady V-max for vermin and you'll love the Barnes 100gr Triple Shock for deer/goats...

    223 suggested loads

    I shoot the 69gr SMK's in my Savage 110FP .223 using 25.0gr of H4895 and Rem 6.5 primers. Three shots in .212" @ 100yds averaged 2981fps outta 24" tube. Just recently tried Nosler 55gr Ballistic Tips with 26.0gr W748, Rem 6.5 primer. Best 3-shot group so far is .136", worse .317" @ 100yds...

    Nikon Scopes

CP, I have a Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20x44AO mounted to a 700VS in .22-250Rem. with Leupold Dual Dovetail bases and rings. This is a very solid scope with precise adjustments and great optical clarity. Tracking during the "box test" (i.e. 16 clicks right, shoot, 16 clicks up, shoot, etc.)...

John Burns-Best of the West- equipment

John, I have only seen the ads for the video/DVD and the TV show. I have been interested in and pursuing long range shooting since I was a young boy. Your system really has my interest up. Great show. Keep up the good work. Johnny K.

300 Win Mag vs 300 WSM

ATH, I never really noticed the recoil on the .300WinMag Sendero (that I used to own) unless I was shooting 180gr's or larger from the bench. I mostly shot the 150/165's for targets and whitetails. The rifle was very accurate after tightening/torquing the action screws and lightening the...

2004 Whitetail season over for me...

Kirby, Nice buck! Wish we had 'em in N.C. like that. The farmers would be crying and probably going to more **** cotton! We get six deer tags here (4 bucks/2 does) but I'd be happy with just one(like that!) Good shooting also. Johnny K.

    Need suggestions for 7mm bullet

I have always used the 150gr Nosler BT in my Sendero (7mmRM) and have never had a problem with bullet failure, even on close shots. My shots have run from 50-450yds and I have only recovered one bullet and it was a perfect mushroom. The range on that was 300yds. Currently waiting to get my...

    25-06 Loads

I haven't had the best of luck with the 115gr in my .25-06 Sendero SF. I have only tried them once and have not shot anything over that weight yet. I am currently using the 100gr Barnes Triple-Shock with 55.5gr of RL22 and 9.5M primers. Accuracy and terminal performance is mind boggling...

    Wildcat Bullets?

Hey Kirby, Keep us all posted. It's great that someone is finally bringing the .257/.264/.277 into the long-range arena with what sounds like outstanding hunting bullets. Even the 6mm with 110/115gr pills is interesting. I have a LA 700 Sendero (7mm RM) that needs a new tube on'er...

    Berger whitetails

I am asking this for a friend. He wants to know has anyone used a 95gr Berger VLD for whitetails. He is shooting a 6mmBR/28" Lilja SS barrel and getting 3030fps. Does Berger make a bullet that is sufficient for 120lb deer? Johnny K.
