No,
I turned out lots of .300 WM that shot better than me with Lee neck sizer and Hornady seating die I bought used.
I do think the Micrometer adjustment seating dies are well worth it for the convenience and you can get the Forster for 60 bucks shipped on ebay
I will say that...
Redding dies are good dies. .007 run-out means something is seriously wrong you may have got a bad set.
That said Defense edge are a known quantity (excellent) and for 100/die it is nice to have a turn key setup. I use a Co-AX and want the micrometer adjustment and the redding simply wont fit...
Well if you insist on using dry media like it's the dark ages. Spend that money and go to HF and buy 3 of their tumblers.
I have the Frankfert, The Hornady and the HF model. I only keep them around for HBN coating.
It is splitting hairs the difference in them.
The Thumler's is...
Ya know I do have a bottle of H50BMG sitting around I may just do something like this.
of course the notion that Powder Burn rate is insignificant in relation to barrel length is laughable to me but hey I'll do the test for non believers.
Take a Kernal of Varget and one of H1000. The...
I had good luck with H1000 CCI 250 with the Amax. Loaded IIRC 79 ish grain it was a compressed load. But it's been a couple years since I re barreled to 338 Edge. The H1000 was very temp stable though.
Edit: This was with a 29" 1 in 10 twist 5R Kreiger barrel. Remy 700.
I may try it in my .338 edge because Retumbo and H1000 are harder to get than uranium. No idea where to start on load development. Probably start at 89 Grains and work up. I seat mine out to 3.900 inches if I can find a node at around 2800 FPS ill be thrilled.
When Berger comes out with a .375 OTM Hybrid it will be time for a new build for me. Rumor is it will be a couple years which is handy because that's how long it will take for me to save the money.
