I don't remember where, but I read an article about tuning the rifle's action screws to optimize accuracy, so I first started playing with my Tikka 595 in .260 Remington. I replaced the slot head screws with hex socket type and shot a series of 3-shot groups at 300 meters, with the first group...
Unless I am terribly mistaken, the original .275 H & H was nothing more than the 7mm Mauser.
If you are referring to necking-down the .375 Mag's neck to 7mm, the 7mm STW is the same thing, with the shoulder blown out to maximize powder capacity.
6x6 bull elk in Arizona in 2008. Lasered at 60 yards. The arrow, with a Shuttle-T Lock 100 grain broadhead, passed completely through both lungs and the heart. Bow used was a 2002 Browning Mirage set at 65 lbs.
A great many years ago (jeez... almost 50), I killed a duck about 100 yards (paces) away with a single shot from my S & W Mod 17 K22 revolver. No, should have never taken the shot, but I won a $20.00 bet. Have never attempted doing it again. I also killed a jackrabbit with a single shot from a...
Try applying for the Arizona Strip. That's the area between the Colorado river and the Utah state line, northwest of the Kaibab plateau. The most difficult part of the hunt is getting drawn. Southwest Utah, in the Hurricane Valley area is also very good for giant mule deer. Good luck!
Almost 2 years ago, I took my long range tikka 595 rifle in .260 Remington, along with a bipod and a range finder, to make a 300-600 yard shot on Coues deer. The very first morning of the season, my rifle brought down a very decent Coues deer at the incredible distance of 50 (fifty) yards. Keep...
I never had a credit card with those preeks, since I've had a Cabelas visa for a while. I closed my savings and checking accounts and moved them to Wells Fargo. I made sure to tell B of A why I was closing my accounts and that I am encouraging everyone I know to do the same. They were not very...

I told B of A. to go pound sand. Transferred my savings and checking accounts somewhewre else and told the B. of A. bank branch manager why. He was not a very happy camper.
No, this was a factory post-64 Winchester Varmint model 70. It had a heavy, 26" blued barrel. It had a ding in the back of the receiver. I paid $175.00 back in 1980 for it.
I use neck-turned and fire-formed Winchester brass in my 25-06 Ackley. I 've had the original brass for over 15 years now. The cases have gone through 4 or 5 reloads and I've had no problems with it.
I use 3 different brands of long range scopes on my hunting rifles and would readily recomment them:
Zeiss Conquest 6.5X20 - Duplex reticle
Leupold MK IV 4.5X14 - Duplex reticle
Burrix Xtreme Tactical 4-16 Mil-Dot
Reticle type does not make much difference to me. Clear optics, adjustment...
