The plate would not affect the reflex. My thought is your die setting were not bumping the shoulder of brass from your rifle.

I fashioned a rear sight on a old 20g with gray epoxy putty. Files to shape easy and has been solid for 20+ years. Give it enough surface to bond it should work for really cheap.

Be realistic if yours is "Picked range brass or brass in the box... Or cleaned and polished... Discount a couple bucks if you want it gone... If you have lapua / norma etc... that is a premium.
