I would first verify that the chamber will take a go gage, then try factory loaded ammo to see if it fits (somewhere safe )it could be your resized brass is a little oversize, and the chamber has been cut on the low end of the tolerance.

A .338 win mag is rated up to 64000, I have put together a couple of Mauser 98s (German made 1909 Argentine) and have had no problems. My only concern would be either the action being too hard (possible cracking) or too soft (bolt set back increasing headspace)

It should fit, you just might need to extend the magazine well, its basically the same size as a .338 win mag.

The important thing a PTG bolt would do, is allow you to determine the exact bolt to receiver clearance you want. You can custom order the bolt diameter to fit the trued bolt raceway with whatever clearance you want.

I went with 1-11 twist based on a recommendation from Mike Rock, the heaviest bullet I will be using is 180gr. I put together another rifle for a friend and it seems to stabilize 180s no problem, out to 1000 yards.

I ordered a Rock Creek 2 years ago and while I was waiting I ordered an Obermeyer, I received the Obermeyer first .

The Obermeyer has a .298 bore , the Rock Creek has a .300 bore,both are 5R rifled

Hello everyone I'm new to this site, been reading for a while, but first time posting. I'm preparing to build a 300WM on a Borden Rimrock Action and ended up with two barrels to choose from, a Rock Creek and an Obermeyer, both #4 fluted, 1-11 twist. Which would you choose and why.
